Senat beschließt Freischussregelung im Wintersemester - Senate approves the "free-shot" regulation for the winter semester
In seiner Sitzung vom 9. Februar 2022 hat der Senat der htw saar die Studien- und Lehrbetriebsordnung (SLBO) auf das Wintersemester 2021/22 verlängert. Damit gilt die sogenannte Freischussregelung, bei der Prüfungen, die nicht bestanden werden, automatisch als Freiversuch gewertet werden, auch im Wintersemester 2021/22. Diese Regelung beinhaltet alle Prüfungen und Wiederholungsprüfungen des Wintersemesters 2021/22.
Von dieser Regelung ausgenommen sind die Studiengänge des dualen Studiums (gemeinsam mit der ASW gGmbH) sowie die folgenden Studiengänge der Fakultät für Sozialwissenschaften:
- Soziale Arbeit und Pädagogik der Kindheit (Bachelor)
- Pädagogik der Kindheit (Bachelor)
- und die praxisintegrierten Bachelor-Studiengänge Pflege (B.Sc.) und Angewandte Hebammenwissenschaften (B.Sc.)
Die Prüfungsausschüsse können die in den studiengangsspezifischen Anlagen zur Allgemeinen Studien- und Prüfungsordnung (ASPO) geregelten Prüfungsformen durch andere Formen ersetzen.

Senate approves the “free-shot” regulation for the winter semester
During the session on February 9th, 2022, the htw saar Senate extended the Study and Examination Regulations (SLBO) through the 2021/22 winter semester. This means that the so-called "free shot" regulation also applies to the 2021/22 winter semester. What is the “free shot” regulation? Well, it means that if you don’t pass an examination this semester, the examination won’t be counted towards your failed attempts. This regulation includes all examinations and repeat examinations for the 2021/22 winter semester.
However, it does not apply to degree programs belonging to the dual study program (together with the ASW gGmbH) and the following degree programs offered at the Faculty of Social Sciences:
- Social Work and Early Childhood (Bachelor)
- Childhood Education (Bachelor)
- and the practice-integrated Bachelor's degree programs in Health Care (B.Sc.) and Midwifery Science (B.Sc.)
The examination boards may substitute the types of examinations regulated in the course-specific appendices of the General Study and Examination Regulations (ASPO) with other types.
