The Senate can set up advisory or decision-making committees to support it.
The Senate Teaching Committee (SAL) is intended to relieve the Senate of routine tasks relating to studies and teaching. In doing so, it must take university development planning and quality assurance into account.
The SCA decides on the course-specific annexes to the General Study and Examination Regulations (RPO). It also advises on the establishment, modification and discontinuation of degree courses and makes recommendations to the Senate.
In addition, general teaching or study-related topics can be submitted to the SCA for consultation in individual cases. It informs the Senate of the outcome of the consultation and can comment on it.
It is chaired by the Vice President for Studies, Teaching, Internationalization and Sustainability. The members are elected by the Senate.
The composition is regulated in the regulations for the "Teaching Senate Committee" of htw saar (SAL-0).
