Rooms are also available on the private housing market in various student dormitories and student shared apartments (WG), which are rented out by a variety of providers. These housing options offer furnished single apartments, double apartments, or furnished single rooms with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities, some of which also include a private bathroom. In student shared apartments (WG), you can rent a furnished room in an apartment with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. Depending on the unit and size, you can expect to pay rent ranging from approximately €220 to €500. You can apply directly with the providers:

In addition to studio apartments, larger apartments, and individual rooms for sublet, you’ll also find shared apartments where each student rents a private room and shares the kitchen and bathroom with other students (“WG”). Listings may be furnished or unfurnished. Prices for a room in a shared apartment vary widely. Depending on the size and amenities of the room or apartment, as well as the location, you shouldexpect to pay between €300 and €500. You can find these listings online, in regional newspapers, and on the bulletin boards at universities. You can also search for rooms in shared apartments and apartmentson the Alt-Saarbrücken housing exchange and on the online bulletin board of the Studentenwerk im Saarland e.V.
