Henrik Fälsch has over 20 years of experience in consulting and corporate roles with a strong focus on technology-driven innovation, including as Head of Innovation Strategy at Deutsche Telekom. Most recently, as “Digital Lead” at BASF Inhouse Consulting, he played a key role in shaping BASF’s digital transformation. He earned his Ph.D. in economics with a specialization in ubiquitous computing from the University of Trier, where he also completed his degree in business administration with a focus on industrial goods marketing, innovation, and e-business.
Henrik Fälsch’s research focuses on analyzing technological developments—particularly in the field of artificial intelligence—in terms of their impact on businesses and translating them into business and value creation concepts. A particular focus is on the effects of digitalization on corporate strategy, marketing, business models, and operating models. The professorship thus takes a holistic view of digital B2B value creation and the challenges of making digital solutions and activities an integral part of core business.
Other key areas of his work include the data economy—specifically, the monetization of data and the development of cross-organizational data ecosystems—as well as the successful marketing of purely digital products and services by “traditional,” non-digital (industrial) companies.
At htw saar, he will pursue these topics using an international and practice-oriented approach. The goal is to prepare students for the challenges and opportunities of digital transformation and to empower them to actively shape the future of businesses.
