Making the world a more sustainable and fairer place? This is the aim of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Agreed by the member states of the United Nations in 2015, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals cover a wide range of topics, including poverty reduction, health, education, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, renewable energy, sustainable cities and communities, climate action, protection of oceans and forests, and partnerships for the implementation of the goals.
The Sustainable Development Goals are universal, i.e. they apply to all countries, regardless of their economic or political situation. Implementing the goals requires close cooperation between governments, the private sector, civil society and other stakeholders at national, regional and global level.
As part of the SDGs, our university has set up sustainability reporters to present sustainability topics within htw saar. Whether in research, teaching or administration - sustainable action is also a major topic at htw saar. As a university, we educate the decision-makers of tomorrow. In doing so, we not only impart specialist knowledge, but also play a decisive role in shaping the attitude and sense of responsibility of our students. In our research, we are in turn involved in the search for ecological solutions for future life and economic activity. Our sustainability reporters Jana and Linda are on the road for you at the university and have asked...
Does your project contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals ( SDGs) and would you like to tell us more about it?
Or would you like to become a sustainability reporter yourself?
Then get in touch with us at nachhaltigkeitsreporter@htwsaar.de
We look forward to hearing from you!
