Solidarity with Ukraine

htw saar is appalled by the Russian attack on Ukraine. It was and is inconceivable for us that a sovereign state would be attacked. We share the German government's assessment that the Russian attack on Ukraine is a blatant breach of international law and cannot be justified. These are terrible days for Ukraine, dark days for Europe and for the whole world. We are thinking of the Ukrainian people with great concern.

We see ourselves as a cosmopolitan, international university, as a place of encounter and science. The freedom of teaching and research, the cross-border exchange of scientific knowledge and of students, teachers and researchers in freedom and peace are the cornerstones of our value system. This requires worldwide observance of international law.

Young people from Ukraine also study at htw saar. You have our solidarity and sympathy. This is also aimed at our Russian students who are also exposed to this situation through no fault of their own.
