The htw saar choir was founded in the summer semester of 2009. The project was initiated by Prof. Dr. Enrico Lieblang, former Vice Rector for Studies and Teaching.
The choir is open for everyone - htw saar students, professors and staff, members of other Saarland universities and pretty much anyone else who enjoys singing!
We sing contemporary songs from the genres of pop, jazz and world music. The songs are easy to moderately difficult, which means beginners are also welcome. The only requirement is that you have fun!
No auditions are required. However, if you'd like to be a soloist, you're welcome to take on a solo part. All you need to bring to the rehearsal is a good mood, sheet music is provided and rehearsals are free of charge.
The social side of things is very important to us: the “regulars” meet monthly and there are rehearsal weekends at irregular intervals.
Three to four times a year we even get to perform, for example at the htw saar's summer festival and Christmas party.
Current news
We are rehearsing regularly again! At the moment, our choir director Julius is being replaced by the very dynamic Austėja Pėželytė.

Rehearsal date: Mondays 18.30 - 20.00 hrs.
New singers are welcome - just drop in. However, you should contact us by email beforehand to find out if there were any changes to the room or dates.
Do you have a talent for acting? Or would you rather put your skills to work backstage? Whether it's acting, make-up, props, costume, set design or music and sound - the htw saar drama group offers many creative opportunities.
The group’s aim is to give htw saar students, professors and employees the opportunity to rehearse classical or modern plays with the help of improvisation, role play, role work and scene work and to present those plays at the university at the end of the semester.
Prof. Dr. Simone Odierna heads up the drama group. Additional support in the field of role work is provided by Gabi Bernstein, who has many years of theater experience and thus complements our theatrical work professionally. Interested? Then contact Prof. Dr. Simone Odierna. Anyone can join, theater experience is not necessary, however, it doesn’t hurt!
Is it too exhausting for you to take part yourself? We give our students the chance to experience culture also as a member of the audience – for free. This offer is valid for events of the
