Earn points for social commitment at the htw saar
Social commitment at the htw saar provides added value for students and the htw as a whole. We invite you to contribute your interests and opinions to student and university-wide committees and audits. You can participate in cultural and sporting events, help organize and carry out events and festivities, support your fellow students, and much more. And we will document and reward your commitment using a bonus booklet.
What is the bonus booklet for?
The bonus booklet recognizes your social commitment at the htw saar and offers you compensation for your voluntary work. It highlights a variety of opportunities for you to participate, co-determine, and engage in social activities, and aims to encourage you to become even more socially active and hold even more offices throughout the university.
What is your bonus?
Let’s get one thing straight: Just plain helping out is fun!
In addition, your involvement allows you to develop your personal and social skills further. You become familiar with many university processes, can contribute and implement your own ideas and thus, actively participate in university life.
And that pays off!
A certificate acknowledges and rewards active and ongoing participation in university life in a wide variety of areas and shows that you are dedicated, can work independently, and interact well with people - which can be an added bonus when transitioning into the working world.
How can you collect points?
Bonus points can be earned for many social activities that are not eligible for ECTS credits or a “salary”:
Participation must be confirmed by the signature of the responsible person (or a representative). You can apply for the certificate as soon as you have a total of 12 points (for bachelor students) or 8 points (for master students).
