Would you like to study abroad?
In most degree programs, a stay abroad, whether as a study or practical semester, can optionally be completed instead of a semester at htw saar. The recognition of academic achievements abroad ensures that the study period does not have to be extended. A stay abroad is mandatory for students on international degree programs. In addition, double degree agreements with partner universities provide the unique opportunity to obtain a university certificate from both htw saar and the host university.
How would I describe my year abroad? Extraordinary. Finnish LAB University opened up a whole range of new opportunities for me, from daily walks by Lake Saimaa and wearing study-specific overalls to very hands-on and innovative courses and winning a "Lion's Den" simulation with my international teammates. Although this year abroad was very different due to Covid-19, with many ups and downs, I was able to meet incredible people, explore the Finnish nature and even spend my birthday in Northern Lights Village in Lapland. I am more than grateful that htw saar opened this door for my academic and, above all, personal development.

Our numerous partner universities in different countries offer a wide range of subjects and modules, whereby certain universities abroad are particularly suitable depending on the degree course, study progress and specialization.
The semester at the ISEG in Lisbon complemented my studies perfectly. I was able to specialize in my subject and at the same time experience internationality at first hand. Not to mention 20°C in winter and Portugal itself.
