Further restrictions apply. This insurance overview is for informational purposes only. Legal text (in German only) with more information, e.g. on the current coverage scopes, see: https://www.stw-saarland.de/finanzen/ -> Studentische Versicherungen.
As the above mentioned personal liability insurance is very limited and related to the university only, we strongly recommend that studentsadditionally take out a more comprehensive personal liability insurance either in their home country or upon arrival in Germany. The German Association of Student Services Organisations (Deutsches Studentenwerk) holds a special framework contract with https://www.vela.insure (-> Haftpflicht-/ Unfallversicherung) . This insurance company offers various insurance types for international students/international exchange students for fully (or additionally) covering their stay in Germany.
