Central Equality Officer and Permanent Representative of the Equality Officer
Irmgard Köhler-Uhl and her team at the Equal Opportunities Office are responsible for all topics related to the advancement of women and gender equality. This involves not only the implementation of the State Equal Opportunities Act (LGG) at our university, which sets goals and rules for equal rights between women and men. The Central Equality Officer also provides advice on issues relating to supporting women in science, fighting discrimination and violence, and promoting gender topics and diversity. Sandra Wiegand is Irmgard Köhler-Uhl’s permanent representative.
She is not only your contact for questions related to the advancement of women and gender equality, especially "gender-inclusive language". She also coordinates the gender-sensitive job mentoring program for students and graduates called "BereiT? Career entry in tandem" and is the key contact person for the student emergency fund at the htw saar.
As the head of our Family Office, she also coordinates the certification of the htw saar as a family-friendly university and develops services on topics such as "Studying with a Child", "Reconciling Work or Study and Family" or "Equal Care".

The equality officers in the faculties and the administration support the work of the Equal Opportunities Office in their respective faculties or areas of responsibility. This ensures transparency and cross-faculty cooperation. Together, they advise the university management team, as well as the other relevant departments at the htw saar on all gender equality issues, the promotion of equal opportunities for women, and the reduction of existing structural discrimination against all status groups.

Tahereh Bakhtiyari coordinates annual activities such as Girls' Day and our Intercultural Week. She is your direct point of contact for the iCommittee and also provides advice on all questions regarding interculturality.
Annabel Bleif is not only the Equality Officer for the university administration. She is also responsible for a significant part of the administration in the Equal Opportunities Office, as coordinator of the Female Professor III program. As a direct point of contact for the content and schedule of our lecture series "Impact of Gender & Diversity on Studies and Career Ms. Bleif will be happy to answer all your questions.
Our STEM officer, Ms. Jessica Theisinger, combines the topics gender equality and engineering in her daily work. She is responsible for the conceptual development, planning and realization of on-site offers and workshops on topics such as "Making technology tangible", "ScienceClub4Girls" (in close cooperation with the Family Office), as well as offers for professional orientation or the Day of Technology. She cultivates cooperations with institutions, schools and associations in order to network STEM offerings for young women. This also includes building and maintaining a “community network”, as well as science communication in the area of "promoting girls in science".
