The aim of the certificate program Technisches Projektmanagement (Technical Project Management) is to prepare foreign engineers for employment on the German labor market. The 11-month program includes language and technical courses at the htw saar and takes place parallel to practical work in the company.
While German companies are complaining about a lack of qualified engineers in many engineering fields, numerous young engineers from other countries are looking for an adequate job – which is hard to find these days considering the tense situation on the labor market in many countries.
The htw saar project SaarIng and its cooperation partners bring together German companies looking for qualified staff and highly-qualified engineers from other countries. Its objective is to create a win-win situation for both parties.
The program’s goal is to expand participants’ knowledge about the German language and German work culture, as well as to deepen their professional competence. The internship allows participants to apply the knowledge they have acquired in the program and prepare for a permanent position.
The certificate program extends over two semesters and comprises 60 ECTS credits. The program includes German courses, modules such as Intercultural Competence, Introduction to Technical Project Management and individually selectable specialised courses, as well as a parallel 11-month part-time internship in a company in the region.
In addition to acquiring further technical skills, the focus is on learning the German language, especially the technical language of engineering. The application of theoretical knowledge in practice is another of the program’s main goals.
After successful completion, participants are awarded the certificate "Technical Project Management" by the htw saar.
This offer is aimed at foreign engineers who want to improve their technical and language skills through intensive courses and practice and who want to prepare for their entry into the engineering field in Germany.
