Applicants with foreign educational qualifications must first apply via uni-assist for a preliminary review of their certificates. To start the process, please go to Uni-Assist. After the preliminary review, you will receive a certificate with the result of the assessment of your certificates and the converted grade (this certificate is called "Preliminary Review Documentation – VPD”). Only with this certificate can you continue and apply to htw saar.

Once you have acquired your VPD document and checked that you hold the required language certificates for your chosen study program, you can proceed to apply to htw saar via the SIM application portal:

Summer semester
Applications for the summer semester must be complete (including VPD and language certificates) and submitted by January 15th of each year. Applications are accepted from the beginning of December of the preceding year. Different deadlines may apply to higher semesters and admission free programs.
Winter semester
Applications for the winter semester must be complete (including VPD and language certificates) and submitted by July 15th of each year. Applications are accepted starting in early May of the preceding year. Different deadlines may apply to higher semesters and admission free programs.
