With its continuing education program for Chinese higher education staff, CDI@htwsaar addresses the need for training on the “German university of applied sciences model” on the Chinese side. This need stems from the government’s efforts to restructure several hundred existing higher education institutions nationwide into universities of applied sciences modeled after the German system. For university administrators, the CDI@htwsaar portfolio thus includes courses on university management and leadership structures. For faculty members, we offer content such as the integration of theory and practice in education, curriculum design, the modularization of degree programs, and the evaluation of teaching. 

It is no coincidence that such a continuing education program has emerged at htw saar. Our university, which can look back on 25 years of applied research, once pioneered this field with national success. Building on this experience, we aim to make a small contribution to the current restructuring of China’s education policy.

Based on our research, we also offer specialized continuing education programs in the field of smart manufacturing. In doing so, we will draw on our “Digitalization in Manufacturing Test Case,” which enables practical training and hands-on experience. Potential training focuses include:
