Application for a higher semester

You must apply to transfer into a higher semester of a bachelor's degree program.

Applications are submitted online via the SIM application portal at htw saar:

New applicants*

Current htw saar students**

Procedure:

• Register* or log in** to the SIM application portal* or SIM student portal**
• Select the "Bachelor's & Master's Program Application" tile
• Under “Application,” select the desired academic semester from the drop-down menu
• Complete the application, including all sections (see the menu at the top left of the application)
• Upload any required documents in the designated section
• Click "Submit Application" (button at the bottom right of the application)

Once the relevant examination committee has completed its review, the notification letters are issued.

For applications for the summer semester, decisions are typically issued in March.
For applications for the winter semester, decisions are typically issued in September.

As soon as a decision is available, you will be notified via email and through the application portal. The decision is available in your application portal under the “Documents” button in the “My Decisions” section.

Once you have received your admission letter in the application portal, you must accept the offer of admission through the portal by the deadline and submit your application for enrollment through the portal by the deadline.

The application deadline for the winter semester is September 30.
The application deadline for the summer semester is March 31.

Recognition of previously completed coursework must be requested from the relevant examination board after enrollment.

The SIM Portal displays the current processing status and any necessary steps on the respective application tile. We will also keep you updated via email.
