Bachelor's Degree (1st Semester)

You must apply for the first semester of a Bachelor's program with limited enrollment.

Applications are submitted online via the SIM application portal at htw saar:

Procedure:

• Register* or log in** to the SIM application portal* or SIM student portal**
• Select the "Bachelor's & Master's Program Application" tile
• Under “Application” in the drop-down menu, select the option “Bachelor’s Programs (1st Semester)”
• Complete the application in full, including all sections (see the menu at the top left of the application)
• Upload any required documents in the designated section
• Click "Submit Application" (button at the bottom right of the application)

Once you have received your admission letter in the application portal, you must accept the offer of admission through the portal by the deadline and submit your application for enrollment through the portal by the deadline.

Applications for the first semester of a bachelor’s degree program at htw saar are only accepted for the winter semester. The regular application deadline for bachelor’s degree programs with limited enrollment is July 15.

In addition, application deadlines may be extended depending on available capacity. You can select the programs that are currently still open on the application portal.

Is there a delay in receiving your diploma?

If you will not receive proof of your university entrance qualification from your school by July 15, please request a certificate from your school stating the type of degree, your grade point average in accordance with the State Treaty on the Allocation of University Places, and the date the certificate was issued, and submit it via the application portal within the application deadline. You must submit your final transcript no later than the time of enrollment.

Do you have the academic portion of the Fachhochschulreife?

Submitting only the academic portion of the Fachhochschulreife is not sufficient. In such cases, you must apply for and submit proof of the complete Fachhochschulreife (academic + vocational portions) to the relevant Ministry of Education. You can find further information here.

Will you complete the vocational component of the Fachhochschulreife after the application deadline?

If the practical component of the Fachhochschulreife has not yet been fully completed by the application deadline but will be obtained by the start of the semester (October 1 or April 1), htw saar will also accept a provisional certificate from the relevant school authority for the application. The final certificate confirming the award of the Fachhochschulreife must be submitted to htw saar no later than upon enrollment.

You may include special applications with your application for the first semester of a Bachelor’s program with limited enrollment. If your application is approved, you may be admitted through a separate quota.
