As a visiting student (a student who is not a member of htw saar), you may be admitted for a period of one semester at a time, subject to available capacity, if you are able to follow individual courses with understanding based on your prior education. 

Guest student status can be applied for via the SIM application portal and is governed by the Enrollment Regulations. Fees are listed in the corresponding fee schedule.

Application deadlines:

• for the summer semester by March 31 of each year
• for the winter semester by September 30 of each year

Applications for multiple degree programs

Applicants must submit a separate application for guest student status for each degree program applied for.
A corresponding fee based on the number of weekly semester hours applied for is due per guest student application.

Application for a German language course

Applicants who wish to apply for guest student status for a German language course should contact Ms. Flauder in advance.
If, in addition to the German language course, guest student status in a degree program is also desired, two separate applications must be submitted.
