The lecture days take place on the edge of the week (Monday and Friday). If there is additional demand, additional dates may be agreed between lecturers and students, e.g. on a Saturday.
A lecture day may extend from 8:15 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and may include a maximum of 14 semester hours per week. There are no lectures between 13:15 and 14:15.

In the respective examination period at the end of the semester. The examination period usually begins at the end of the lectures and lasts 3 weeks. Following the official examination period, make-up examinations are held for those who have not completed an examination in the previous semester. This includes students who either did not take an examination or did not pass it. The examinations will take place on the usual lecture days and on Saturdays. The htw saar asks companies to show students the necessary understanding during the examination period. During this time, the student is under particular pressure and stress and should prepare extensively for the exams.

In principle, the company is not obliged to pay the fees for its students. However, the company is free to decide to invest in a potential manager and to take over all or part of the financing of their student's studies. Another alternative would be for the company to contribute to the financing of the course, which would reduce the burden on the student.

No "triangular contract" is concluded between the company, htw saar and the employee or student. If the employee decides to study part-time and the company agrees, the future student concludes a contract with htw saar. The internal employment relationship is regulated between the student and the company. The htw saar only makes recommendations based on experience. There is no contractual or quasi-contractual relationship between the company and htw saar.

No. htw saar has no right to a say in employment contract decisions (working hours, vacation entitlement, part-time employment or employment as a working student, etc.); these all remain with the employer. However, htw saar does make recommendations. For example, in the context of working hours, it is recommended that the student is employed part-time or for a maximum of 50%. A 40-hour week would mean that the student would not be able to adequately complete their work or studies.

As the student does not have to attend any lectures during the semester break after taking the exams, they are in principle 100% available to the company during this period. However, the company should bear in mind that the student is exposed to a double burden of studies and work during the semester, has a strenuous examination phase behind him at the beginning of the semester break and may have to take care of his projects during the semester break. For this reason, htw saar recommends that the part-time employment relationship is continued during the semester break.

There is no obligation on the part of htw saar to grant the student separate leave entitlement. During the semester and the examination period, students invest a great deal of energy and time in their studies and work. They can only perform optimally in their work and studies if they are granted appropriate breaks. Due to this fact, it is only in the interest of the company to grant the student an appropriate leave entitlement. Students also have the opportunity to apply for educational leave.

Employees in Saarland are entitled to up to 6 days' leave per year for professional or political training. Employees of the federal government are exempt. The leave of absence is granted on condition that the beneficiary contributes the same amount of non-working time and has been with the company for at least 12 months. Non-working time can be vacation, overtime or non-working days. One-day events are also eligible for time off. In this case, employees and employers must each contribute half a day. For part-time employees, the amount of time off is reduced in line with the level of employment. Employees must notify the employer of their participation in an educational event at least 6 weeks before the start of the event. The employer must provide feedback at least 2 weeks before the start of the event. The entitlement to time off can be carried over to the following year with the employer's consent in order to take part in a longer training event.

The student or applicant only needs to be in permanent employment at the time the program begins. In the event of termination (on the part of the company or the student), the usual termination rights and the usual protection against dismissal apply. The student may continue their studies without any restrictions.

As part of a company project, the student works together with a company on a project that relates to the student's activities in the company or the company's activities. The results are recorded in a final documentation and presented in a presentation. The topic of a project could be, for example, the redesign of the workflow process. However, the design of a concept for complaint management, the (re)design of the website or the revision and implementation of a customer survey can also be examples of project work. In general, the company is not obliged to support its students as part of the projects or the Bachelor's thesis. The projects during the course of studies are used to establish the practical relevance of the course. From the perspective of htw saar, it would be ideal if the employing company supervises the project, i.e. sets the project task for its student. The student is familiar with the company and its processes and can contribute the knowledge gained in the lectures to the company. Within the framework of such project work, the company can gain new ideas without employing additional people. If this is not possible or desired, it is possible for the student to carry out the project with another company, with htw saar offering its help as a mediator. If no project partner from practice can be found, the student can carry out practice-oriented theoretical work in the form of a case study.
