KunstGeschichtenHaveyou ever stood in front of a work of art and wondered what it is trying to tell us? Why are there suddenly figures that look like a pillar and what do blue horses actually mean? What did the artist want to express? By triggering these and similar questions, our imagination is given wings. Our magazine "KunstGeschichten" gives you exciting insights into the results of such fantasies.
Students on the Master's degree course in Cultural Management at Saarland University of Applied Sciences looked for new ways of communicating art as part of a student project in the summer semester of 2020. Together, the students created the KunstGeschichten magazine, which gives a voice to various well-known works of art from the Saarland Museum's Modern Gallery, bringing them to life through stories. The authors gave free rein to their own imagination and invented ideas about details of the pictures, whereby they were free to decide to what extent they were guided by the actual history of the works' creation in the sense of art history. You will gain an insight into the stories that the respective artwork inspired its author(s) to tell. Find out, for example, what might have been going on in the artist's mind, under what conditions the artwork might have been created or what was of social interest at the time it was created.
In their stories, the authors combine their artistic knowledge with their imagination and wealth of ideas. Their stories aim to inspire, entertain, arouse curiosity about the works of art presented and arouse interest in art, possibly even in people who have not yet discovered art for themselves. The stories also aim to encourage you to view the featured works on a personal visit to the Saarlandmuseum's Modern Gallery so that you can experience the full richness of the paintings when you look at them from different angles and distances and discuss them with your companions, for example.
The magazine prepares you in the best possible way and opens up a variety of new perspectives on art. Your next museum visit is guaranteed to be a very special experience - comparable to researching and reading travel reports and the anticipation of a vacation that you have carefully prepared for weeks, only to finally be there and gain your own vivid impressions.
Alternatively, the stories are also available as podcasts at www.3klangradio.de, the university radio station of htw saar, HfM Saar and HBKsaar, in the KunstGeschichten program.

3klang Campusradio - the first university radio station in Saarland from htw saar, HfM Saar and HBK Saar
3klang Campusradio is a web-based university radio station (accessible at www.3klangradio.de) with a cultural focus and the first university radio station in Saarland. As with the Master's degree course in Cultural Management, the three Saarland universities htw saar, HfM Saar and HBK Saar are united here as a cooperation and their students are offered the opportunity to actively participate in radio across all faculties and degree courses.
The podcasts are divided into different sections and programs and deal with various music and sound art genres, interviews with well-known personalities, everyday topics of campus life at all participating universities, present project work by students and much more. Students and lecturers from the participating universities can create this wide range of different programs across universities, faculties and degree courses. For htw saar, these are primarily the program "htw saar Campus Live" or the program "Kunstgeschichten", in which students can present their project work.
Through the radio, listeners can gain an in-depth and informative insight into campus life at htw saar. They are also informed about current topics, trends, events and examinations and are taken along to events and concerts.
The wide range of diverse programs from different subject areas is primarily intended to encourage students and employees of the three Saarland universities to get involved in something new - or "old" - and thus broaden their musical and artistic horizons and stay up to date with campus life.
The 3klang campus radio was created as a student project as part of the module MKM-250 "Project in the Cultural Industries" in winter semester 17/18.
