Logistics Cluster – Shaping the Future. Connecting Value Creation.
Logistics and supply chain management are among the key success factors for modern companies. Global supply chains, digitalization, sustainability, artificial intelligence, and geopolitical shifts present companies with ever-changing challenges. At the same time, innovative technologies and data-driven approaches open up a wide range of opportunities to make value-creation networks more efficient, resilient, and sustainable. The Logistics Cluster at htw saar addresses these current developments and combines practice-oriented teaching, applied research, and knowledge transfer with industry partners.
Degree Programs with Future Prospects
The Logistics Cluster brings together the degree programs in logistics and supply chain management offered by the Faculty of Economics. Students acquire sound business, analytical, and digital skills to plan, manage, and continuously improve complex material, information, and financial flows along global value chains. Practical teaching methods, corporate projects, field trips, simulation exercises, and the use of modern software solutions facilitate a direct connection between theory and practice. The program is consistently aligned with the demands of a digitized and interconnected economy and prepares students for specialized and leadership roles in industry, retail, services, and consulting.
Partner for Businesses
The Logistics Cluster serves as an interface between the university and the business community. Companies benefit from a wide range of collaboration opportunities—from industry-led lectures and field trips to internships, work-study positions, and thesis projects, all the way to joint research and development projects. In corporate projects, students tackle real-world challenges from companies and develop solutions to current issues along the supply chain.
The Logistics Cluster’s program at htw saar was awarded the Higher Education Prize for Freight Transport and Logistics by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure in 2015.
