Supply Chain Management and Digital Business M.Sc. - from summer semester 2025

Whether shipping parcels, negotiating with companies or designing global supply structures: the economy needs efficient solutions to become smarter, faster and more climate-friendly. In our complex and increasingly networked world, well-trained game changers are needed to manage and optimize such supply chains, and not just in Saarland.

The economy, logistics and information technology have changed fundamentally in recent years. The pressure on companies to become more resilient to unforeseen market changes such as punitive tariffs is increasing. Legislation and the market are increasingly demanding that companies guarantee minimum social and climate-related standards for all (preliminary) products and services. New technologies, particularly in the field of digitalization and artificial intelligence, make it possible to implement these requirements cost-effectively and at the same time facilitate cooperation between companies.
The university is offering a new three-semester Master's degree course in Supply Chain Management and Digital Business to provide students with the skills they need to manage supply chains with topics relating to sustainability, digital business models and artificial intelligence applications. In the new Master's degree program, high-tech know-how and sustainability meet the professional challenges of an international business world. In-depth knowledge of supply chain management, business informatics and quantitative methods for decision support are taught in a practical and application-oriented manner. Students acquire the skills to lead change and acquire "future skills" such as creative solution techniques, which are currently in high demand on the job market. In projects with practical partners such as Bosch, Festo or start-ups from the regional economy, they apply their acquired knowledge to real challenges - from AI-supported warehouse automation to the circular economy for e-car batteries.
With its wide range of electives, the degree programme also offers a playground for further specialization. Students design CO₂-neutral supply chains, develop resilience strategies for supply chains or improve material flows for recycling. They learn how to control company networks with a digital twin, automate processes using low-code applications or better protect companies from cyber attacks.
A Bachelor's degree in an economics-related degree course is required for the course. The exact entry and admission requirements can be found in the FAQ on this website. The following figure shows an overview of the course of study.
