No, you do not need any German language skills. The work and the study program of the EPS at htw saar are in English. Your English language skills should be at least level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). (For further information on the language certificate, please contact the ERASMUS program officer from your university.)
After all accomplishments, you will receive a traineeship certificate from the industrial partners, plus a transcript of records listing all modules you have passed with 30 ECTS credits. You will also receive a certificate for your participation in the EPS.

The assessment of the German Course will be an exam at the end of the semester.
At present, there are no tuition fees at htw saar. However, all students have to pay the semester fee (see here).

*This is only a rough guide, and students may spend more or less than these amounts. It amount does not include leisure trips and the semester fee, which must be paid before every semester (as part of the enrolment). Additionally, accommodation providers usually require a refundable security deposit at the start of your rental agreement and sometimes a cleaning service fee upon the rental contract termination. Therefore, higher costs arise at the semester's beginning (and end).
No, this is not possible at the moment. You will know the project you will be working on as well as your team members, upon arrival. We do our best to assign you to the project that fits your field of study the most.
No, you cannot choose your team. We build the teams depending on the disciplines that the projects require , and that fit your discipline the most. All teams are multicultural, and multidisciplinary and consint of around 3-4 students. It is rather unlikelx that two persobs from the same counry or uniersirty are I the same team. Even if a colleague/friend of youts from the same university joins us.
Students from an EU or EFTA member state must provide an EHIC chip card (European Health Insurance Card) as proof that they are insured in their home country. After arrival in Saarbrücken on presentation of the EHIC card to a German health insurance fund in Germany, you will receive proof of exemption for the German statutory health insurance ("Bescheinigung über die Befreiung von der Krankenversicherungspflicht "). Students must submit this proof of exemption when they enroll at htw saar. In addition, the EHIC itself should be presented whenever you consult a doctor.

A form will be made available in the application portal to use the pre-reservation service. You will also receive notification and additional information on the topic of accommodation and your admission letter. The pre-reservation service form for Accommodation will be available online in the application portal. Please note that if you do not make use of the pre-reservation service, we will not assist you with finding Accommodation.

Your student ticket that you receive for a semester after paying the semester fee has the Deutschland Ticket integrated. For using the ticket you must download the saarvv app and register. Please contact the international office of the HTW regarding instrunctions.
The validity covers all public transportation throughout Germany, including all local buses, regional trains, S-Bahn and U-Bahn trains, as well as trams, including the Saarbahn stop "Sarreguemines (F)."
Long-distance travel (e.g., ICE trains) is not included.
