Since the entry of htw saar in the EPS Providers Network, the previously offered International Project Semester has changed its name to European Project Semester.
The European Project Semester at htw saar is an English-language study program for international and local htw saar students of engineering sciences, offering them the opportunity to benefit from the combination of a practical project and valuable accompanying exciting courses.
The close cooperation of htw saar with renowned regional companies enables students to work on a real project in the engineering industry. The topics of the projects mainly focus on questions of engineering disciplines in the fields of Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics/Sensor Technology, Renewable Energies, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and Industrial Engineering.
Before the start of the practical phase, the students are prepared for the project work in the company professionally, linguistically, and interculturally. With self-organized learning, students are able to contribute ideas to their practical project, shape it, and act independently and on their own responsibility. The EPS team accompanies the students throughout the semester and offers counseling and support. and help.
The EPS community consists of several universities throughout Europe. Check out the EPS Providers website for more information
The [EPS program] gave me the chance to accomplish an internship at a renowned company at my home university. It gave me insights into the professional work life, from weekly meetings, project management all the way to team work in international groups.
Mounir, EPS alumnus from htw saar
I took part in the EPS wanting to expand my horizons regarding work methodologies outside of Latin America, and also expose myself to new intercultural experiences. The most important thing to me in the program, was working in a German company with teammates form such different places from me. The guidance that they gave us at [the company] was priceless and I learned so much from them, they gave us the space to learn and practice technical abilities in a professional environment. The professional relationship with my teammates made me feel very safe and accompanied while in a new environment, where we were all learning about German work culture and German culture in general.
