We believe that research is the prerequisite for modern, application-oriented teaching at the cutting edge of scientific knowledge. This is why our professors, together with our academic staff, are committed to successful research and knowledge transfer. The diversity of the faculty's and the university's subject areas is used in a targeted manner to form interdisciplinary research collaborations. In this way, research at the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics makes a significant contribution to the research priorities of htw saar and to the implementation of the faculty's strategic areas of expertise:
Evidence of our research and transfer achievements can be found in the large number of national and international conference contributions or scientific publications, which can be read on the personal pages of the faculty members. In 2017 and 2018 alone, members of the faculty published a total of 19 books, thereby presenting specialist knowledge or making new findings available to the interested public and for teaching purposes. Further evidence can be found in the number of third-party funded projects acquired. Members of the faculty are also involved in promoting scientific exchange by organizing scientific conferences, symposia, exchanges of experience and transfer workshops or by participating as reviewers in journal or conference review processes, for example. The cooperative doctorates co-supervised by professors from the Faculty, which take place as part of the cooperation platform with Saarland University or in collaboration with partner universities in Germany and abroad, also make a significant contribution to this. The research performance of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics is therefore visible regionally, nationally and internationally.
Another key component of knowledge transfer is spin-offs. Here, too, the Faculty can score points with spin-offs from research work and the active support of founders as mentors within the framework of EXIST.
