WI-Modellfabrik: discover, experience, reflect and develop further
The WI-Modellfabrik is more than just a learning space: it is a practice-oriented innovation laboratory that has been funded by the Foundation for Innovation in University Teaching as part of the DIGITAM project and has therefore been further developed. Since 2025, the WI-Modellfabrik has also been part of the International Association of Learning Factories ( https://ialf-online.net/).https://ialf-online.net/).
Here, students can not only understand real production processes, but also actively help to shape them.
The WI-Modellfabrik also offers attractive cooperation opportunities for companies. As part of joint projects, operational processes can be developed, analyzed and optimized under realistic conditions.
With modern technologies and interdisciplinary methods, the model factory offers an ideal environment to experience future topics such as Industry 4.0, process optimization and sustainable production in practice.
In close cooperation with committed students from various degree programs, as well as scientific contact persons, a valuable transfer of knowledge and the development of practice-oriented solutions is made possible.
Would you be interested in a joint project? Please feel free to contact us.

Our philosophy:
The WI Model Factory is more than just a learning space: it is a practical innovation laboratory in which real production processes can be simulated, optimized and rethought. We believe that understanding and skills are developed through experience, trial and error and reflection. With the WI Model Factory, we are creating a space in which theory and practice are combined. Efficiency, quality and sustainability are our guiding principles. The active exchange of knowledge and working on joint projects give participants the initial impetus to rethink and encourage them to play an active role in shaping the working world of the future.
