The “Deutschlandstipendium” (Germany Scholarship) at the htw saar supports htw students (incl. DFHI students, CEC Saar students, ASW students starting in September 2021) regardless of nationality, age, the number of semesters, BAföG entitlement or degree program with 300 euros per month for (in general) one year.
Academic performance is one of several selection criteria that determine eligibility for the Deutschlandstipendium. However, in addition to academic achievements, honorary, community or social commitment, as well as family or personal background are equally important (for example: if you are the first person in your family to study, started studying within the framework of continued education, are a single parent, study despite a serious illness, or if you family has a connection to mining on the Saar...).
You can find more information about the scholarship at www.htwsaar.de/studium/finanzen/stipendien/deutschlandstipendium (in German)
Semester fees, rent, food, books, clothes and even going out sometimes...Studying costs money. For those who can’t afford to pay for their studies on their own, there are various financing options - from BAföG to student loans and scholarships.
There are a variety of support options for financing your studies:
BAföG
The state supports students financially with so-called BAföG aid. BAföG aid must be repaid on a pro-rata basis after you have finished your studies.
Scholarships
Scholarships aren't just for students with top grades. Some foundations, for example, regularly award scholarships to students in certain degree programs or in connection with specific thesis topics.
Student loans and education funds
Student loans are granted by banks, but must be repaid after you complete your studies.
