Re-enrollment

• Log in to sim.htwsaar.de using your user ID
• Click the "My Applications" tile
• Click "Create Application" in the bottom left corner
• Under "Type of Application," select "Application for Re-enrollment" from the drop-down menu
• Transfer the displayed amount due to the bank account provided
• Click "Submit" in the bottom right corner

The submitted application will appear in the application overview with the status "Application is being processed."

Once the application has been successfully reviewed, it will be assigned the status "Application Approved."

If your application cannot be reviewed due to missing or incorrect documents, you will receive a notification via email. The submitted application will be marked as “Additional documents requested.”

• Log in to sim.htwsaar.de with your user ID
• Click the “My Applications” tile and select the application with the status “Additional documents requested”
• Switch to the “Documents” tab
• Under “Required Documents,” the document that needs to be submitted is displayed in red
• Click “Resubmit” in the bottom right corner

The submitted application will appear in the application overview with the status “Application is being processed.”

The certificate of enrollment is available for download on the SIM Student Portal under "Semester-related Certificates."

As soon as you receive the confirmation email regarding your successful re-registration, you can have your student ID card validated the following day at the validation stations on the Alt-Saarbrücken campus (Building 10, cafeteria lobby) and on the Rotenbühl campus (near the cafeteria), or at the ASW location, with your new semester information.

If you are expected to graduate this semester, you do not need to re-register for the following semester, provided that all exams are completed or have been completed this semester—even if the grades have not yet been released. The submission date is what counts, not the date the grade is assigned!

If you have re-registered even though it was not required, the re-registration generally cannot be canceled. The semester fee is non-refundable! As a result, the number of academic semesters will increase by one, which could lead to exceeding the standard period of study.

If you wish to remain enrolled beyond the completion of your degree, you must submit an application for continued enrollment via the upload section in the re-registration form on the SIM Student Portal. This will not increase the number of academic semesters in your previous degree program.

Please note that you are required to re-register at htw saar even if you are currently studying at the Université de Lorraine, in Luxembourg, or on an internship!

No payment is due during the regular re-registration period (the CEC Saar will settle any outstanding fees directly with you or, if applicable, with funding agencies; the CEC Saar will cover the insurance premium of €1.30). If you miss the regular deadline, a late fee of €15 will be charged.
