What is this project about?
The ECO² research group is a cooperation between htw saar and Fraunhofer IZFP. Its aim is to provide methods for the holistic recording, evaluation and optimization of ecological and economic impacts. Their application is intended to specifically improve the sustainability of industrial technologies, products, processes and supply chains.
A particular focus here is on combined sensor and data systems for non-destructive testing (NDE), which provide key information for circular value creation (circular economy) - and thus actively contribute to ECO² optimization themselves.
After all, in order to achieve the Paris climate targets and at the same time strengthen Germany as a business location, it is crucial to strike a balance between ecological and economic interests. However, there is often a lack of suitable methods for this holistic approach, particularly in the case of highly complex technologies - this is precisely where the ECO² research group comes in.
