What is this project about?
The European project Interreg GR UniGR-CIRKLA aims to create an interdisciplinary competence center for circular economy in the field of materials and metals in the Greater Region. This is to be achieved by bringing together stakeholders from society, education, research and industry.
It offers a model for cross-border cooperation between four countries (Belgium, Luxembourg, France & Germany) and benefits from the common industrial, historical and cultural diversity. With its industrial tradition in steel and new materials, the Greater Region can be a role model in changing consumption practices and developing new business models.
Themain objective of the project is to promote the transition to a resource-efficient circular economy and to establish the Greater Region as a model region in the heart of Europe through the competence center.
Activities of the time4.CE research group:
htw saar is leading the identification and networking of stakeholders in the Greater Region in relation to the circular economy. There are already a number of players, initiatives and projects that deal with circular economy issues. The htw saar will bring them together to form a cross-border innovation community with the following tasks:
